SSAV Ltd is a specialist business and project development company with particular expertise in business strategy relating to select countries in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). Our origins can be traced back to 2005 and we recently restructured our company in 2012 to form SSAV Ltd. We have demonstrated a track record of connecting parties with a mutual interest in the region through the utilisation of an extensive network of relevant contacts, spanning many sectors.
Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) is increasingly being chosen as a destination for foreign direct investment (FDI). According to the 2012 UNCTAD World Investment Report, FDI inflows to Sub-Saharan Africa increased from US$29.5 billion in 2010 to US$36.9 billion in 2011. Many of the wars and conflicts that were associated with SSA have come to an end and multi-party elections leading to democratically elected governments are now becoming more commonplace.
Asian countries, especially China and India, have undergone industrialization at a fast pace in the last decade. To assist with the industrialization of their economies, they have had an ever-increasing need for African mineral resources. In recent years, we have seen increasing interest in SSA from countries such as Brazil, Russia and Middle Eastern countries. These BRIC nations, together with other Asian and Middle Eastern countries, have an interest in Africa but need guidance on how to enter African markets.
